Sparrow Run raises money so it can be put to work by people already doing the work. This page is who we ride for, who rides with us, and where the dollars land.
Ride proceeds go two places, in this order.
The reason the ride exists. When a family loses a baby, the mother leaves the hospital with support built for her. The father leaves with his keys. The Sparrow Bag Initiative puts a handmade bag in his hands before he walks out: a token to carry, a bracelet to wear, a few words from men who've stood where he's standing, and proof that what he lost was seen.
Every bag is made by hand. Every one is funded by these miles. The first dollar this ride raises goes here, and so does the last.

Ride proceeds also support Sad Dads Club, a community of fathers who've lost children, built by men who needed one. Weekly meetings, funded therapy, and proof that no dad grieves alone.
Founded by three fathers after their own losses, the club runs weekly meetings where a grieving dad anywhere can show up and be seen, and funds therapy for fathers who need more than a meeting. It's the kind of place this ride exists to strengthen: men showing up for men, every week, without a story requirement.

A local quilting group that gives every yard of fabric and every hour of sewing behind the Sparrow Bags. No bag reaches a father's hands without them.
The initiative has room for more hands. Shops that'll host a stop and hang the sparrow. Clubs that'll bring riders on January 1st. Hospitals, clinics, chaplains, and social workers who'll place Sparrow Bags where they belong. If your organization wants to move with this mission, we want to hear from you.
